3 Day Desert Expedition from Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley:

Depart from Marrakech at 9 am in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the scenic drive over the Atlas Mountain range, offering magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, known for its stunning architecture and historical significance. Afterward, continue to Ouarzazate for a lunch break and sightseeing. Indulge in delicious Moroccan cuisine in local cafes. After lunch, continue along the route of the Dades Valley until reaching our guesthouse, where you’ll spend the night. The guesthouse provides comfortable ensuite rooms, and an evening meal and breakfast are included.

Day 2 – Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi:

In the morning, continue your journey along the Dades Valley, visiting the impressive Dades Gorge and Todra Gorge, as well as other interesting sites. Arrive at Merzouga, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the village and meet your camels. Embark on a unique and enjoyable camel ride for approximately 1.5 hours, traversing the dunes to reach our desert camp at Erg Chebbi. Marvel at the stunning sunset over the landscape from the top of the dunes. Upon arrival at the camp, savor a cup of delicious mint tea and spend the evening under the stars, surrounded by the warmth of a fire. Enjoy a traditional meal of Tagine or couscous (vegetarian options available) and engage in a drum party and storytelling. Toilet facilities are available at the camp, and you can choose to sleep under the stars or in enclosed Bivouacs.

Day 3 - Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Marrakech

Wake up early, just before sunrise, and embark on a 1.5-hour camel ride to further explore the area. Witness the breathtaking desert landscape in the soft morning light. Return to Merzouga on your camels, where you’ll have breakfast and the opportunity to freshen up with a shower. Begin your return journey to Marrakech, crossing the stony desert and traversing the Atlas Mountains. Make plenty of stops for photos, exploration, and lunch along the way. The tour concludes in Marrakech, with an estimated arrival time between 17:00hrs and 18:00hrs.

Optional: If you prefer to break the distance on the last day, we suggest spending the night in the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou.
