Itinerary

Day 1Fes - Medilt - Azrou - Ziz Valley - Merzouga (Camel Ride & Night in Desert)

As the sun rises over Fes, we begin our adventure toward the captivating dunes of Merzouga. En route, we’ll pass through Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and venture into the cedar forests of Azrou, home to playful wild monkeys. Capture the beauty of Morocco’s wilderness through your lens in this picturesque setting. In the small Berber village of Zaida, we’ll savor a delightful lunch.

Continuing our journey through the majestic Atlas Mountains, we’ll be treated to breathtaking landscapes as we pass Medilt. Arriving in Erfoud, we’ll sense the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Finally, we’ll reach Merzouga, where a moment of relaxation awaits before embarking on a mesmerizing camel ride into the heart of the desert. As the sun sets, you’ll be captivated by the golden hues of the dunes. Spend a magical night in traditional Berber nomad tents, immersing yourself in the tranquility of the desert.

Day 3 Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Tinghir - Todra Gorges - Dades - Ouarzazate

Awaken your senses to the awe-inspiring sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast and a refreshing shower at the hotel, we bid farewell to Merzouga. Our journey continues as we visit Rissani, a town steeped in ancient history, and Erfoud, known for its rich Berber heritage. Traverse the captivating landscapes of the Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters create a breathtaking sight.

Venturing through the scenic Dades Valley and the mesmerizing Rose Valley, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Enchanting Kasbahs and the fascinating Skoura oasis dot the route, providing glimpses into the region’s cultural tapestry. As evening descends, we reach Ouarzazate, ready to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures.

Day 4Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas Mountains - Tizi n'Tichka - Marrakech

Prepare for a day of wonders as we depart Ouarzazate and venture to the UNESCO-protected site of Ait Benhaddou. Marvel at the impressive Kasbah, a well-preserved fortress that has served as a backdrop for numerous cinematic masterpieces, including the legendary Gladiator. Leaving Ait Benhaddou behind, we journey through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the magnificent Tizi n’Tichka pass 2250 m, standing at an elevation of 2260 meters. Be captivated by panoramic views of valleys, mountains, and traditional Berber villages.

As the sun sets, we arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech, where our Fes to Marrakech 3-day desert tour concludes. Reflect on the memories created, the landscapes explored, and the cultural wonders encountered on this extraordinary adventure.

This Desert Trip is available to be booked independently (including transfers from Fes or Marrakech) or we can put together a full itinerary and quote to combine your trop with any of Marrakech, Essaouira, The Atlantic Coast, and Trekking in morocco Mountains.

Start Point?  Finish Point?

  • You will be picked up from your accommodation in Fez city, many riads does not have access by car so the driver will park nearby and come to get you.
  • You will be droped off at the nearest point to your riad/hotel , our driver can call your riad to meet you if needed.

 

How do you book & pay?

Find the trek you are interested in then contact us via E-mail to discuss your trek and check availability. Once the details of your trek (duration, route, and number of people) have been agreed upon, we will make a provisional booking, giving the dates and cost.
To confirm your booking we ask you to pay a 20% deposit. This can be in Euros, pounds sterling, or USA dollars online via a bank account. The balance is paid in Morocco by cash – again in Euros, sterling, or dollars – at the beginning of the trek.
NB: if you can’t carry cash, you can always pay again the balance online by bank a few days before departure.
