Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Casablanca, Transfer to Chefchaouen

Upon your arrival at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, you will be greeted by your driver who will transfer you to Chefchaouen, a picturesque town nestled in the Rif Mountains. The journey takes approximately 4 hours. Check into your accommodation and take some time to relax. In the afternoon, begin exploring the enchanting blue streets of Chefchaouen. Wander through its narrow alleys, adorned with blue-washed buildings, and visit the bustling main square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and indulge in local cuisine at one of the traditional Moroccan restaurants.

Day 2 Transfer to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes

After breakfast, depart from Chefchaouen and head towards Fes. En route, make a stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the well-preserved remains of this former Roman city, including the impressive mosaics and the Arch of Caracalla. Continue your journey to Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. Visit the historic sites of Meknes, such as Bab Mansour, the grand gate to the city, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. In the late afternoon, arrive in Fes and check into your accommodation.

Day 3Explore the Medieval Medina of Fes

Today, immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city. Begin your exploration at Bab Boujeloud, the famous blue gate that leads to the medina. Enter the labyrinthine streets of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Visit the tanneries to witness the traditional leather-making process, and explore attractions like Al Attarine Madrasa, a stunning 14th-century Islamic school, and Al-Qarawiyyin University, one of the oldest universities in the world. Discover the intricate craftsmanship of the medina’s artisans and browse through the bustling souks, where you can find a wide array of goods, including spices, textiles, and traditional handicrafts.

Day 4Transfer to Erg Chebbi in Merzouga Dunes

Leave Fes behind and embark on a scenic journey towards Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Traverse the Middle Atlas mountains, passing through cedar forests and charming Berber villages. Make a stop in the town of Erfoud, known for its fossil treasures. As you approach Merzouga, catch your first glimpse of the majestic sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once you reach Merzouga, meet your desert guide and hop on a camel for a magical ride through the golden dunes. Arrive at your desert camp nestled in the heart of the Sahara, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the starlit sky.

Day 5Transfer to Ouarzazate via Desert Towns and Oases

After a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes, bid farewell to the Sahara and head toward Ouarzazate. Along the way, you’ll pass through a series of charming desert towns and lush oases. Explore the village of Khemliya, known for its Gnawa music and culture. Visit Rissani, a traditional market town famous for its bustling souk. Continue to Tinghir and marvel at the dramatic Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs surround a narrow canyon. Journey through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, dotted with ancient fortified palaces, before reaching Ouarzazate. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Benhaddou, an impressive mud-brick kasbah used as a backdrop in many famous films. Day 6Explore Marrakesh's Medina

Begin your exploration at the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, an impressive landmark with its towering minaret. Visit the Bahia Palace and discover its stunning gardens and intricate tilework. Explore the labyrinthine streets of the medina, where you can find a treasure trove of handicrafts, spices, and textiles. Visit the enchanting Ben Youssef Madrasa, a former Islamic college adorned with beautiful Arabic calligraphy and intricate carvings. In the evening, head to Djemaa el-Fna, the main square, and experience the lively atmosphere with its street performers, food stalls, and traditional entertainment.

Day 7 Depart from Marrakesh

On your final day in Morocco, take some time to explore Marrakesh at your own pace. You may choose to visit the tranquil Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, or explore the contemporary art scene at the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL). Enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the city’s rooftop restaurants, offering panoramic views of Marrakesh. In the afternoon, depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to Marrakesh Menara Airport for your onward journey.

Questions & Answers

How many hours drive should I expect each day?

It all depends on the number of days your Tour consists of. The more days you reserve for the tour the less the drive will be each day. For a normal day, you should expect 4 to 7 hours drive including stops for pictures, food, and drinks. It could be more or less according to the number of places you wanted to visit. Some tours have 2-3 nights in each place and this is upon choice.

Are the prices quoted for private trips?

Yes, prices are per person and we require 2 travelers at least to start this trip. If you are single traveler we will ask you for some extra for being alone.
However, if you are travelling with more friends/family, just send us a message and we will send you group prices.

How do I camp in Sahara desert?

The drive to the desert is quite long. You should reserve an entire day drive for one way to reach the destination. At the camp, there is everything you need for a pleasant experience.
To go camping you need to go on camels crossing the sand dunes. If you have allergy to animals or you are senior, a jeep will be provided to take you there.
We recommend to wear a soft pant while taking a camel ride.

What is the Weather like ?

The desert can get quite hot, with daytime temperatures averaging 15 – 40°C from March to October, and 5 – 20°C from November to February. Nighttime temperatures drop significantly and can even approach freezing in the winter. As much as 10mm of rain can fall in any month, particularly from October to January, but generally the desert is dry.

In the summer (June, July, August), daytime temperatures have been known to approach 45°C on occasions in the desert and in the towns and cities on this trip, so please ensure that you come prepared with sun protection, light and airy clothing and electrolytes/rehydration solutions if travelling at this time of year. If it becomes unsafe to camp in the desert due to extreme summer temperatures, your host will accommodate you in a nearby hotel instead.

Moroccans like kids and they are source of inspiration for Moroccan families. We are glad to see you with your dears and happy to satisfy you will any needs for a memorable experience.

What are the practices of tipping in Morocco?

You should, but not obligatory, tip your guide, driver your waiter or hotel staff before leaving. The amount depends on how much you liked the service; however a rough idea is from 10 to 15% of the service’s value.
You may be generous and gift what you can, but in general tipping is based on how much you like the provided services.
